“The Bariatric Room” – come and see how much space is needed for a bariatric patient
Bariatric patients place greater demands on hospital design. Studies made by Anita Vesterdorf show that there is a need for a floor area of at least 22 m2, if a bariatric patient with a weight of e.g. 230 kg should to be moved safely from a bed to a wheelchair with a ceiling lift.

To illustrate just how much space is needed for a bariatric patient, we have created The Bariatric Room at BRC2011.
Here the exhibitors show how their products work in a Bariatric Room. Come and see for yourself.

Please note: Anita Vesterdorf, PT, will speak about “Space requirements for bariatric patients” on 9 November 2011.
